Checked out the Z today, pretty happy overall with it but didn’t drive it home for reasons.

Reason 1: the headlights have been scratched to hell and I was wondering if there is any alternative to fixing that outside of buying new ones (those cost CarID has a set for $400)

Reason 2: those tires aren’t going to survive the summer as they are nearing the end of their life already. I wanted to price check the tires and am looking for recommendations on good all season tires.

All in all I’m going to call him tomorrow and see if he’ll take 7k OTD for it

If they come in the right size, I recommend General Altimax RT43's for all seasons. They’re pretty cheap, and quite good. I wish they came in the right size for my truck.

Buff the headlights maybe?

I thought of that but for a ton of minor scratches? Some of them felt rather deep

You can either get the headlights done professionally or try one of the diy options. I did my miata headlights with a crude towel and toothpaste. Couldn’t have been happier with the result for how cheap the solution was.

I used one of those headlight restoration kits on the Corolla. Worked out really well. Supposed to reapply sealant every couple months I think. My stepdad says you can use clear coat instead. Didn't keep the car long enough to try

General G-Max AS-03's came up as a fit for it, they’re nicely priced

What’s the mileage? There were a lot of premature clutch wear issues with these. Might have it 3rd party inspected.

Tires + headlights will run you probably close to $1000.

Whats his current asking price, and whats your budget to register, insure and purchase a completely summer ready car?

My Z had these on it when I bought it; pretty decent tires and even did a couple track days on them before getting some Potenza RE-11s

I use the sub-20 dollar 3M kit. I have done a few sets of VERY crappy headlights. My sisters 04 Elantra was TRASHED headlight wise. 2 hours and some elbow grease they look brand new.

It’s 15 bucks well spent. I believe for 5 extra you can get the version with an intergrted socket to attach to a low speed drill, which makes life sooooo much better
